This home built by our project managers in Antequera Bohol is flood-ready as the entire ground floor have no living rooms – just store rooms for farming implements. So in case of flooding during heavy storms, the owners can sleep peacefully in the second floor.
The ground floor is also made vacant so they can use it to store seedlings and farming equipment as the surrounding land is very fertile and is constantly being irrigated by the surrounding swamp – perfect for a little farming or planting hobby. This house is simply mitigated by earth filling to raise the ground above the usual 1 meter water level during heavy rains.
The walls of this house are also made with insulated pre fabricated walls made of poured concrete pre mixed with EPS insulation granules in the factory to make a rock solid wall that resists heat and noise from outside. So the owners can enjoy a continuous breeze of fresh air from the surrounding forest while the walls keep the house cool. Air con may be used at night in the rooms, but not needed during the day so they can continuously enjoy the fresh forest and mountain breeze of the area.
