Anti flood farm house residence in Antequera Bohol has epoxy coated genuine Vigan Tile floor

This residential farm house in Antequera Bohol is flood ready – which means the entire ground floor is empty and open in case a flood comes in – there’s just an open space in the ground. There are two rooms on the right side – the first room is used as storage for farm tools and the other room is a laundry room where the washing appliance is located. The rest of the ground floor is just elevated open space which can be used to place maybe seedlings and other farming implements. The living area, bedrooms, and kitchen are all located at the second floor through a covered side stairway.

The area is a forest type low level swampy area where water frequently pass through to the other lower areas especially during heavy rains so a one meter elevation for the ground floor slab is in order as the water could rise to half a meter during heavy rains but it also dries up during sunny days. Because it is naturally well irrigated, the couple owners are seriously planning to plant in the surrounding vacant areas as the house only sits on a quarter of their total lot area.

Since most of the neighboring lots are also mostly unused except for a few houses of the neighbors, this is a very idyllic place where you can plant and enjoy a forest type of living where you can be in a constant tranquility with nature always enjoying the chirping of the birds and occasionally the croaking of the frogs during rainy nights.

The walls at the second floor are made of insulated composite walls which is a mixture of cement and EPS pellets which makes light walls yet concrete solid. This makes its walls heat proof and sound proof. This is a more affordable version of a full ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) house.
